Bio

McClintock High School Defensive Line Coach Steve Dodd brings more than a decade of coaching experience and a strong Arizona football background to the Chargers program. A Westwood High School alumnus, Dodd has spent 12 years coaching football and has worked with athletes across several different levels of the game, giving him a unique perspective on player development.

Throughout his coaching career, Dodd has coached at the NYS youth, high school, junior college, and semi-professional levels. His experience has allowed him to work with players ranging from young athletes learning the fundamentals of football to experienced players competing beyond the high school level. Public records also connect Dodd to the Westwood football program as a coach, further adding to his ties to the program where his own football journey began.

As McClintock's Defensive Line Coach, Dodd brings that experience to the development of the Chargers' defensive front. His approach emphasizes physicality, technique, discipline, effort, and toughness, while teaching his players how to understand their responsibilities within the entire defense. His years coaching at different levels have helped shape an approach focused not only on improving players physically, but also on building their confidence and football knowledge.

Away from football, Coach Dodd is a dedicated family man. He is engaged to his fiancée, Sheryl, and is a proud father of three. His commitment to family carries over into his approach to coaching, where building relationships and helping young athletes develop into responsible young men remains an important part of his role within the McClintock football program.
